I PLEDGE TO MAKE THE VOICES OF UB STUDENTS HEARD.

Have you ever wondered why UB students’ always complain about small things whose solutions seem to be readily available? Why do we complain about the same things over and over again? Maybe it’s because nobody, no one is paying attention to what you are saying! As a member of your student government, I will not only pay attention to what you say, but will also ensure that the rest of the Student Council starts taking you seriously.
Just a few of the issues I want to tackle….

1. Parking-I know this is on everyone’s mind. Parking fees are outrageous. I will work hard to eliminate these fees completely or come up with a better plan that every student can fit into their budget.

2. Evening Services-Most students are here in the evening and weekends and you have a right to have access to the student cafeteria and other services that are important to you. I also believe that the Student Center should be open 24 hours a day to allow everyone the ability to use it.

3. Money, Money, Money-Is it all about a balanced budget or a surplus at the end of the fiscal year? No it’s not. It is about allocating the money efficiently. The money must go where it is most wanted. Are you happy with the way money is currently distributed? As a member of the student council, I will ensure that the money you pay for with your student fees goes where it is most wanted. It is the responsibility of all UB students, not just student organizations; to allocate funds to areas they are most wanted.

I have been at UB for two years and I have experienced life at UB and have heard of other students’ experiences. I know exactly what UB students need and want. You have unlimited power in making decisions. I will fight to give UB students the power to make decisions that have been affecting you. Vote for me and I will make your voices heard!
